The Unshackled Craft Co-operative is a group of crafters creating authentic hand-made  items themed and produced on site at Robben Island.

​Each piece has a true story to tell.

​WHERE ARE WE FROM ?

Co-operative members hail from communities in the Cape Town area. Self-taught, then trained at the Craft Development Institute they propose meaningful and affordable items to bring home and remember a once-in-a-lifetime visit to the most famous historical landmark in South Africa.

THE  OBJECTIVE

To propose emotion-filled ​authentic hand-made memorabilia to the visiting public.

We ambition that every visitor may bring home a piece of history whilst creating employment for co-operative members.
